Materials of Foilboards
Foamcore
This is the heart of all our boards and is made of high-quality EPS with unique technology to keep the balls stuck together and reduce the water infiltration. All our cores are locally sourced to reduce transportation and are molded in aluminum tooling to avoid waste.
Fibers
The flexibility and strength of the foilboard are driven by the outside fibers. We have a large selection of multi-axis glass fibers with special reinforcements of premium materials such as carbon or natural fibers.
Rails
We set up aluminum rails covered by 2 ABS plates to guarantee the strongest anchoring to your mast.
Top Sheet
It provides additional reinforcement to the foilboard and offers full compatibility for all the graphics you can imagine. With the guidance of our graphics team, the finest, most scratch-resistant top sheets will be used in combination with the best printing method to reach the full potential of your artwork.
Resin
We propose to our customers a wide choice of epoxy resins with different options of foaming ones or bio-sourced materials for greener projects.
The Process of Foilboard Manufacturing
With the right materials, we must now make them effective and choose the correct process in combination with the right parameters to manufacture the best board.
With years of experience, Playmaker offers 5 different ways to print graphics onto the top sheet, (from silkscreen printing to UV Digital Direct printing with the traditional water sticker with spray printing).
The molding is carried out with our unique technology on a press with aluminum tools at high temperature to guarantee the best impregnation of the fibers, and the best adhesion between core, fibers, and top sheet. The result is that we produce light-weight and strong boards that are super resistant to impact while respecting the original shape with unrivaled precision.
To complete the foilboard tune-up, we offer 2 different surface treatments, matt varnish and glossy polish.
